THE MODERN REFRESH OF A CLASSY AND CARING CRAFTSMAN
NIC MARSHALL JEWELLER SIGNAGE IN THE WORKSHOP WINDOW
Nic Marshall Jeweller has built a reputation for creating luxury products and meaningful connections. After 40 years of passion and crafting, it’s time for a refresh of their identity to reflect their culture and values while still remembering their roots.
Even though the business was updating its brand identity to something more fresh and modern, Director Nic Marshall wanted to remember his roots. So, instead of NMJ (Nic Marshall Jeweller), the logo mark was adjusted to NJM which is Nic’s maker's mark. A key identifier on each of his pieces so what better way to represent his thriving business?

The handcrafted, custom logo mark, was created specifically for this business – with the craftsman and director's character in mind. The serifs and symbols on either side are inspired by the geometric forms of jewels, showing off the unique character and sophistication of the brand. The lattice is a key motif throughout the identity, representing the network of connections the company values. It is neverending, stretching into the future with purpose and passion.

The new identity was applied across a set of business stationery, offset printed by Taylor'd Press in Melbourne. The cream paper mellows the sharp green and gold, welcoming the beholder into the fine and sophisticated world of fine jewellry. Using custom boxes elevates this sense of intimacy and exclusivity. Each piece of art is contained within a distinct, cushioned box to rival the big-name jewellers.
Social media accounts also got a refresh. Here the logo takes the spotlight, with the limitations of social media icons in mind so that the brand is recognisable in an instant. The lattice background accompanies it, though the linework is subtle at the small scale.
